Job Description Summary

Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the Global Supply Chain operations and processes.

Works with the organisational leadership, develop, set the pace and support business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, commercial approach, culture, people and processes.

Outline direction and deployment of the Lean framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practice. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects / initiatives across global supply chain by providing guidance and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Strategy and Development

  • Provide strategic and operational support to the Stafford valves factory to manage the growth and capacity expansion to meet our customers’ demands.

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices, lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational and transactional performances.

General and Task Management

  • Develop a robust continuous improvement strategy, being an innovator of positive change across global supply chain that impacts Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost and People in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders.

  • Implement and support cultural change across the organisation and drive business improvement by leveraging lean practices.

  • Create performance management reporting through Lean visual management methods and through Daily Management to improve SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People).

  • Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business in global supply chain improvement, drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies.

  • Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success.

  • Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice.

  • Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, such as the planning and running of lean events.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing strategy and initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organisation, standardised work, process / workflow improvements, and visual management, and inventory reduction.

  • Create and improve Value Stream Maps to find opportunities for production / process enhancement to achieve organisational goals.

  • Undertake continuous training and development.

  • Contribute and support the operational rhythm.

  • Analyse problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures, create, review and update improvement plans.

  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.

  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited university or college

  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in a relevant / transferable role

  • Lean: 5S, SW, VSM, SMED, Single Piece Flow, Strategy Deployment, Kanban, Heijunka, daily management @ genba, SQDIP/SQDC, VOC, Action Planning.

  • Problem Solving skills and root cause analysis capabilities.

  • Kaizen facilitation.
