Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Strategic Planning will sit within the Strategic Planning function for Healthspire Payor & Life Sciences Solutions, executing business unit-wide initiatives and serving as the primary liaison to the Product organization to ensure consistency and quality execution of these strategies. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the VP of Product and Growth to establish a multi-year plan focused on driving exponential growth of the portfolio by identifying healthcare trends (e.g., emerging clinical areas, innovative pricing models) that, if appropriately tackled, can put CVS in a market leadership perspective

  • Leading the development of strategic vision, business case, and high level roadmap for key long-term growth initiatives, coordinating with business unit leadership across CVS, enterprise strategy, and the HealthSpire portfolio

  • Upon approval of business case, translating opportunity into practical execution through in-depth understanding of product levers, technology platforms, and sales opportunity specific to the Healthspire Payor & Life Sciences Solutions portfolio

  • Supporting the Product organizations to drive innovation and growth of keystone products, bringing external research, stakeholder feedback, and sales insights to drive growth strategies across the portfolio

  • Driving growth of the Product organization through facilitation of goal setting and tracking, cross-portfolio initiatives, executive presentation support, and serving as key support in top-to-top meetings with VP of Product and Growth and Executive Director of Strategic Planning.

Preference for candidates to live in the state of New York.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Healthcare industry basics. How do health plans work, how do PBMs work, where is value generated across the value chain, what are the key levers that drive decision making by healthcare leadership

  • Digital health and startup ecosystem. Knowledge of trends in the healthcare innovation space, ability to do research on emerging trends

  • Strategic Finance. How to evaluate companies’ financial health, how to size potential opportunities

Skill In:

8-10 years of experience with -

  • Stakeholder management. Knowing how to work with a wide array of stakeholders, including those who are much more senior, to collect information, drive consensus, and develop recommendations

  • Research and hypothesis development. Ability to take ambiguous prompts and turn them into discrete recommendations

  • Business case development. Financial scenario development based on defensible assumptions

  • Advanced PPT and Excel. Ability to develop executive-level presentations and analysis

Ability To:

  • Work independently with little initial guidance. Knowing how and when to bring in external review

  • Formulate ideas and innovate without prompting

  • Translate potential opportunity into tangible roadmap based on deep expertise of product portfolio and technology systems

  • Understand current state of healthcare while identifying emerging trends and prioritizing opportunities to leapfrog competition

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Intricacies of healthcare technology (e.g. ,claims systems)

  • Value based care

Skill in:

  • M&A and due diligence

  • Product management and technical development

EducationBachelor's degree required. MBA and/or prior consulting experience preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$86,700.00 - $190,700.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
