This intern role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The intern experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group.

Duration/Location

The internship will be on site in Greensboro, NC working up to 30 hours a week. The fall internship dates are August 19, 2024 to December 13, 2024

What you will do

We are seeking a student who is interested in working within the Volvo Group Services & Solutions team with a focus on the enablement of Service Contracts. The intern will be responsible for aiding in the launch of Service Contract programs including change management, marketing, and in the creation of sales and service enablement tools. Main tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Understand overall Volvo Group strategy and model core values into daily work

• Support daily planning and product/program execution activities

• Provide support to the Services & Solutions Product Managers, Program Managers, Pricing Team, and other internal stakeholders, as needed

• Contribute to the development of dealer/user training programs and assist with ad-hoc training to dealers and internal stakeholders on the importance of Service Contracts

• Support the commercialization of Mack & Volvo Service Contracts and global system rollout

• Create/update published documentation and process updates for Service Contracts and Protection Plans

• Aid Regional Connected Services Managers in tools & processes to support the sales of Service Contracts

• Own assigned Product Management projects to completion or hand-off

Essential Skills

• Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and speaking.

• Ability to tailor communication style based on the platform and audience

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments

• Excellent interpersonal skills with high professionalism and ability to build relationships

• Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision

• Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Quick learner and innovator when facing new difficulties

Requirements:

• Applicant must have an engineering, analytics, or similar technical bachelor degree at an accredited school and must be pursuing a graduate degree (MBA or similar degree preferred) at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of that graduate degree prior to the start of the intern program.

• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

• Interns may work up to 30 hours per week during the fall semester.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
