Bindery Machine Operator

Starting Pay: Low - Upper 20s

2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 10:30pm M-F

Description:

As a #3 Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for performing set-up tasks, monitoring the equipment and troubleshooting on our Core Publishing Solutions team

Shift differential is $2/hr for 2nd shift and $3/hr for 3rd shift.

All candidates that are hired at TR will either start on their 2nd/3rd shift. It is viewed as a promotion to move to the first shift which is done all internally when being promoted.

TR has about 20-25 people retire each year. This is a company where someone can grow and build a career for themselves.

Gloves and equipment (safety glasses, etc) are provided. TR will pay for steel toe boots.

Job Responsibilities

•Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts

•About the Role: In this opportunity as a #3 Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for:

•Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirements

•Monitoring the equipment and product quality; obtaining maintenance support for equipment as needed

•Performing simple to moderately complex trouble-shooting related to product or equipment

•Communicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-off

Evaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventative maintenance

•May use computer-based workflows applications to manage files

•Accurately documenting activities on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), i.e., material usage, equipment issues, etc

•May perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling or physical inventory cycle count activities

•Actively participating in company safety programs and contributing to a safe culture

•Meeting or exceeding established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work procedures

•Generating, implementing and sustaining continuous improvement ideas

•Participating in project teams as needed

•Providing back up for other operators to cover absences or breaks

•Recommending and implementing process improvements

•Can regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach and kneel

•Can wear Personal Protective Equipment including steel toe shoes and ear protection
