Job Description:

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director and/or Manager of Patient Access Services Call Center performs the function of obtaining referrals, and/or authorizations prior to the service date for test, procedures and admissions into the hospitals. Maintains awareness of different sources available to inquire or request referrals and/or authorizations including verification of insurance eligibility

and benefits. Participate in training new staff. Document accounts with referral and authorization information, co-payment and/or deductible information. Notifying the proper individuals of patients that do not have a

prior referral and/or authorization for the test, exam, procedure, or admission into the hospital.

Accepts other duties as assigned.
