Want to join a fast-paced dynamic compliance team with global impact? The Walmart Director, Ecommerce Commerce and Item Policy ; reporting to the Senior Director of eCommerce Compliance is a critical thought-leadership role that will help set our eCommerce platform compliance strategy and policies, design and implement standards, controls, and monitoring and further enhance training and awareness. The Walmart Ethics & Compliance team is focused on creating new ways to meet rules and regulations and making conscious choices to do what's right. Team members work cross-functionally with various aspects of Walmart's businesses, connecting with associates across the globe.

What you'll do....

As an eCommerce Compliance leader, reporting to the Senior Director of eCommerce Compliance, you will:

  • Lead in the creation and implementation of item-level policies governing our ecommerce platform

  • Coordinate with business, product, engineering, legal, government affairs, corporate affairs and other teams to ensure that compliance processes for various functions (such as item setup, pricing, logistics, online catalog and content and other eCommerce services) address legal and compliance requirements, including requirements from certain agencies (such as FCC, FTC, EPA, local State AGs, etc.)

  • Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risk, and enhance current compliance strategies and processes

  • Develop decision-making frameworks, perform and oversee industry and market analysis, and communicate progress and measures of success to senior leadership and key internal stakeholders

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to implement policy, provide awareness and training. and train on policy

  • Develop vision and strategy for the development of policies, procedures and projects for U.S. eCommerce compliance by benchmarking industry best practices; evaluate and report on key performance metrics; and assess and direct the cross-functional development of policies to ensure organizational alignment across the enterprise

  • Enable business functions by driving technology development; lead cross-functional teams to incorporate an eCommerce compliance focus; analyze complex emerging technology and operational requirements; and evaluate U.S. eCommerce initiatives and best practices prior to release to our customers or associates

  • Perform U.S. eCommerce compliance risk assessments (including impact, likelihood and ratings) and address gaps; monitor, facilitate and/or support legal, compliance and risk mitigation for audits; and coordinate with legal and other stakeholders to respond to regulatory and other investigations

  • Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; develop consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy

What you'll bring....

  • Legal experience and/or experience within regulatory compliance teams

  • Experience implementing legal and compliance controls (including technology) to enforce regulations and other legal requirements

  • Experience working with, and excellent knowledge of, eCommerce legal and compliance matters, including experience with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, US consumer protection, product safety and related laws and regulations (additional experience in competition, cross-border trade, environmental, and health & wellness are a plus)

  • Experience working with various regulatory agencies such as FCC, FTC, EPA, ATF, and FDA

  • You're a self-starter, that can operate in a complex collaborative corporate structure with multiple stakeholders and a high degree of professional ethics and integrity

  • You're organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication skills and are a master at making complex subjects easily understood

  • High standards and can hold project contributors accountable

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years' supervisory experience. 4 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
